Hobe Sound (Jupiter) Florida USA.
Originally from Manchester UK.
I ride to feel in the moment and alive. It helps my health and body fight an incurable lymphoma I was diagnosed with in 2017.
I like to push myself and treat cancer as a positive motivation to live life to the full.
I love to take on challenges I am not sure I can achieve.
Riding a bike is freedom for me to be in my own head, in the moment, out in nature – alive.
Giant Defy, Shimano DI2, wheels Zipp 303.
Riding from LA to Boston (2018) and riding EFI.
Vancouver to Whistler (RBC Grandfondo Forte) 2022 (beautiful scenery).
Arriving in Boston after 3,500 miles and realizing I had achieved my 1st cycling goal.
False summits climbing up to Flagstaff. I had never climbed hills as I trained for my cross country ride in FL. Seeing the sky ahead when your grinding and the turn a corner and the road goes up again.
Achieving a goal isn’t easy but giving up is. I don’t like easy. I hate giving up on anything.
To ride as many great rides or challenges as I can, while I can. To hopefully inspire anyone with cancer or other health issues to not let a disease rule your life.
Life is a journey. Every mile is an adventure if you live each and every mile. Time passes quickly. Your body is the best machine you will ever have.
