Why I Ride

I ride and race because its what gets me going. I love the training process; I love having a goal and working towards it. I ride because of the cycling community. I ride because it helps me with stress. I ride to help and inspire others. I ride to help fundraise a charitable cause. I race to win

What I Ride

Spiegel Diablo, Spiegel San Marino, Spiegel Alpina

Favourite Race so far

Race: Bike Nonstop US – 3475 miles from Portland to DC

Ride: Paris Brest Paris

An endurance highlight

3rd Place Bike Nonstop US 2021. Some Overall 12 & 24h wins, cross state record.

My most challenging moment

Bike Nonstop US – 136F in the desert on a self-supported race, stretches over 100 miles with no services, running out of food, water, encounters with wild animals, crazy gravel sections

What I tell myself to keep the bike moving forward

That I need to get to the next town, next control, next night, next morning. Breaking it into small chunks. That I need to keep going to give strength to those fighting health issues, to inspire my kids.

Racing or Riding Goals

Short term – Transcontinental 2026, but first RAE 2024.
Long Term – RAAM , TransAM

What endurance teaches me

Discipline, routing, to be humble, to be prepared, to complain less about the small things in life

Favourite treat-food on the bike
